There’s a reason this grip shows up in so many low handicap bags. It handles two separate problems at once, and it does both without asking you to rebuild your swing.

The Plus4 part comes first. Golf Pride packs 4.5% more material into the lower hand section, which sounds minor until you take hold of one. That extra thickness quiets an overactive bottom hand. If you flip at the ball or fight a hook, reducing the taper takes pressure out of that hand and helps the clubface stay square through impact. Your ball flight straightens and you changed nothing about your motion.

Installing an Align Grip

One thing separates this from a normal install. The ridge has to be clocked square down the back of the shaft, or the whole alignment benefit disappears. A shaft alignment guide or a vise with a spine marker handles it, and the extra minute is worth taking.

Everything else is routine. Tape, solvent, slide it on, check the spine, set it aside for a few hours. If you’d rather not eyeball the alignment yourself, any club shop will square it on the fitting bench.

Cord outlasts rubber, so you’ll get a long run out of this one. Brush the cord section to lift dirt out of the weave, and replace when the cord flattens or the rubber starts to shine.
